This year Lisa (the lady that has watched Lucy since she was a baby)

had all the kid practice singing and invited all the parents to come over.

The kids exchange gifts every year and this year we made a big deal of it,

which made it so much more fun to see the kids faces.

This was the first year Chris and I had a real tree. We decided to buy one at Home Depot that you can plant in your yard once you are done with it, so it was really little.

Cottonwood Heights Days

My dad was driving the float in the Cottonwood Heights Days parade, so we decided we would all go up and watch the parade. It was so nice to not have to put your chairs out a week in advance like the Riverton parade.

Summer Science Camp

This July Lucy went to Summer Science camp with her cousins

Macade and Kemrie

Lucy won't get to go to regular preschool because we have to work and the babysitter is unable to take them. So Lucy's hero Aunt Ammie came to the rescue and would pick Lucy up at Lisa's and take her to "preschool" then return her to Lisa's three day's a week.

Lu had so much fun, all of the pictures she made there still hang in her room with pride.

July 3rd

We started July 3rd out with Kevin, Erika and Cole

We went to see Toy Story 3 and to lunch.

Lucy LOVES her cousin Cole and thinks he is super cool,

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney on Ice with Stacey, Dwayne and Claire

Lucy has been doing so good at going potty, so this was one of the treats for not pooping in her pull-up for more than a month.

Lucy wore her Belle dress once again

The problem with going to this is that in the middle of the show and for weeks after Lucy thinks she is ice skating everywhere. And she needs help to do it, so while we paid to see people skate, we got Lucy saying hold my hand, leg, head, back and so on.

Lucy got one thing from the Allen's it is her love for popcorn!

Every night she asks us to make her a little bag of popcorn, ask her what she wants for breakfast, lunch or dinner.....popcorn.

So anytime she sees it at an event that is what she wants.

St Patty's Day Parade

We decided to check out the St Patty's Day parade this year.

It was hard to find any info on it, but there was so many people there.

It was FREEZING but we bundled up and sat through the rain and snow to see it.

We made the girls to-to's to wear, but it was so cold they had them under the blankets in the strollers.

Big Girl Bed

Lucy has never slept in her own room, she always stayed in our bed, then we bought a toddler bed, so that moved in our room and she did really good at sleeping in it.

One day we cleaned the office (Lucy's room) and Lu asked if we could move her bed in there. So we did and that was the end of sleeping in our room.

The bad part is that I worry about if she has a blanket and if she is going to be cold. And if she is going to hurt herself with her crazy positions.

One day she was like this in the morning.

And the next day like this.......

That would have to hurt.

Chris took 2 weeks off of work between Christmas and New Years

Most days I would come home and Chris and Lucy would still be in PJ's with nothing done. So I decided to leave work 2 hours early one day and come home to play in the snow. Lucy loved it!

This year I told myself that I was not going to take pictures of every moment, that from now on I was going to live in the moment and have memories of that time instead.

Well this Christmas I lived up to it. I only have about 10 pictured of the whole day, I am going to have to find a happy medium somewhere.

We live in such a little place, and thought it would be fun for Lucy to have her own tree, so we went to the store and Lucy picked out everything including the tree, then we came home and let her decorate it all by herself.

Lucy saw Santa three times this year and every time she would ask for a baby, stroller and bottles. This is just what Santa brought her.

This year Chris gave in and we bought the Gingerbread house kit from Costco. Lucy had a great time, Chris and I almost got divorced during the process.

We got a kit with a one armed Ginger man. I think they did that because he would be thankful we built a house for him and did not expect an Extreme Home Makeover type of house.

In the end our poor house was lucky to be standing. But the grin on Lucy's face was worth everything. And by the end Chris and I said this will be an every year project. What does not kill you only makes you stronger right?!?

Lucy had been doing so good with potty training, so Chris and I decided I should take her to see ELMO grows up. I got up and got ready then called Chris, Lucy was still asleep. I woke her up and Chris was on speaker phone and told her where she and I were going. Lucy was really excited and we called Kemrie to see if she wanted to go to.

Lucy liked the showed, but liked her balloon a whole lot more.

Kemrie LOVED the show, she was singing and dancing along.

It really was fun we went to the 10AM show on a Friday. There was nobody there, we bought our tickets and then were able to move down 22 rows, because there was nobody between us.

This is The Storm that made Claire Jayne Green come.

We got home after a day of playing with the family, and I told Lucy she could run through the puddles, it took her a few minutes, but once she figured out that I was running and getting really wet, she went for it!

Also, I took my camera out in this. There was WAY TOO much water for a Sony Cyber-shot, hence why I don't have any pictures of Claire when she was born.

A few hours later Ammie called to let me know that Stacey's water just broke and they were on their way to the hospital. Stacey and Dwayne did a great job, and they welcomed baby Claire Jayne Green at around 7:30 the next morning.

About 6 weeks ago we went swimming with the Kirby girls.

We tried out the Riverton Swim Park, the girls did not last as long as we thought they would, but we still had a great workout trying to keep them in one area.

I was in the shower getting ready to take Lucy swimming with the Kirby girls. Before I got in Lucy had my make-up bag, I said "No." Lucy hlped put everything back in the bag and zipped the bag and said she would watch Elmo. HA, I should have known.

We decide to buy a year long pass to the zoo, so this will be the first of many posts.

I think it is really freakish that Chris is so close to the Ape, all he needs is slightly longer arms.

I think every child needs the picture of them drinking out of the lions mouth.

The last time we were at the zoo Lucy was 15 days old, we have this same picture in this same spot.

Lucy had a great time, and we got front row parking, which always means you are meant to be there.

Do as I say not as I do.

I have a bad habit of biting my fingernails, and it looks like Lucy has picked up on this too.

She will bite them until they bleed. I guess this is what we will need to work on together after the potty training is done.

The Salt Lake County Fair

After Gymnastics, we headed to the fair. We had not been for many years, but thought it would be a cheap and fun thing for everyone. Stacey, Dwayne, Grandma, and Grandpa joined us in the fun. Lucy got to see a bunch of new animals. Here is our little family with a 9 mo old Kangaroo.

Lucy got out of the stroller, walked right up to this cow, stuck her hand in and touched it's face and ear, the turned around and said "I touched it"

The longest pony ride ever! I swear it was at least a 6-8 min ride.

Lucy on a PINK tractor. She also got to be a "farmer for the day" and picked an apple from a fake tree, got an egg from under a fake hen, and then dug in a box of dirt for a potato. After she got everything on the list they gave her a red ribbon.

They also had a painting station set up, so while everyone looked at the pictures, Lucy sat very nicely, and painted a red and blue dinosaur.

We had such a busy day, but on the way home from the fair, Lucy said "I had fun day" which made it all worth it.

Lucy started her gymnastics class on Saturday.

She got a new outfit, that she picked out and kept begging to go to "class" all morning.

Lucy has a wonderful teacher named Miss Mackenzie,

you can tell she really loves to help the kids learn something new.

Lucy learned how to do what she calls "hands and feet" all by herself!

By far Lucy's favorite thing to do is the bar. She has so much upper body strength that Miss Mackenzie had her try a flip. Lucy would watch the Gymnastics video multiple times a day waiting to go to class. She would always talk about the bar, it did not disappoint!

One thing I was not prepared for was Lucy being scared of the balance beam, she had to be holding on to someone's hand the whole time. Our hope is just to let her run off energy, and learn how to listen, well a little better anyway.

When did my baby get BIG?

On the 5th it was off to the Condo at Bear Lake!

We had a great time at the pool the first minute, until my dad got in the pool, took one stroke, and hurt his shoulder. He had to sit out but the rest of us played.

Fireworks in Evanston

We talked to the people in town during the day to find out where to go to get the best seat for fireworks. And there were a few people that said the baseball park is good. We drove up close to the ball park, found a seat and watched for an hour. I think anywhere would have been just fine to see the fireworks. There were so many people setting off the fireworks, that would be able to see them from anywhere! After an hour we were sick of watching fireworks! This was no Riverton Fireworks! You could not look any direction and not see a great show.

Because we were going to Bear Lake on the 5th, we decided to go to Evanston for the 4th.

They had the town kids fair, so the kids went and got tickets, and had a great time.

When Lucy gets out of the shower, she thinks she can get ready herself, which she can.

But as a Mom I have learned I need to let her go out like this as well.

On Saturday the family went to Daybreak,

we took Grandma and Grandpa's paddle boat.

Grandma Noonie gave Lucy some molds for Jello Jigglers, so Monday night for dinner Lucy and I made Jello, she wanted Orange.

That night we had grilled cheese and jello, Lucy ate her grilled cheese into a phone, and talked to multiple people during dinner.

I would say that is a pretty good little phone.

Easter 2009

The Easter bunny was good to Lucy this year!

she got a baby and her Easter dress, and the bunny hid eggs all over the house.

Grandma Noonie spent the night at our house after the birthday party, because Easter was the next day. After we found eggs at our house we went to Marc and Ammie's for brunch and Grandma and Grandpa put on a huge egg hunt.

Not really into finding eggs. Lucy stood on the sand box and Marc and Ammie's yelling "Ta-Da" while everyone else found eggs.

Later in the day we went to Kevin and Erika's house for dinner and an egg hunt, by now Lucy was getting it. Aunt Erika bought baskets and a movie, and hid eggs in the backyard.

Little Lu turns 2!

Lucy's birthday is April 13, 2007, and her best friend ever, is her cousin Macade, who is born April 19th 2004. So This year for the combo birthday party, we went to the Living Planet Aquarium, they both love fish. Lucy's big gift was a fish tank with 2 fish, we named Opal and Glodie, after Chris' grandma Opal Goldie. Opal has since joined her family in "the sea" via the toilet, but Goldie is still going strong. Macade got a tank with 5 crabs for his 5th birthday. We ordered pizza and my sisters and I decorated 100 cookies in sea life shapes. It was a super fun party. We had many friends and family join us for a great day at the aquarium.

The Stafford kids had no idea they were going on vacation, until they were on the way there. They spent 2 days in Vegas, the drove to San Diego, they checked into their room, and went for a walk..... While they were looking around, they saw Chris, while I was checking us in. YOu could hear all the kids "CHRIS." That right we flew down to meet them.

This is my Grandma Judy, so she is Lucy's great-grandma.

I call her Gram, most others call her Grandma, and when Ashton my nephew was born he started calling her Hot Grandma Judy.

And it has stuck ever since!

Ever since I can remeber, or anyone else for that matter, Gram has always put her hair up in "rollers." The rollers have changed over the years but not by much.

With Mothers Day coming up I wanted to take time to tell everyone how mch I LOVE my Grandma Judy, she is an AMAZING person and an even better Grandma. She always makes it to a few grandkid Baseball/Softball/Soccer/Basketball/Karate/Dance/Choir/Piano things each year. And with all the Great Grandkids she is just as good.
These are pictures of Lucy (ones I will treasure forever) putting up her hair in rollers with Gram a few weeks ago, Lucy also loves to wear gram's shoes all around the house. These are two things I still remeber doing as a very young girl and even into my teens.

Vacation from Blogging!

It seems like forever since I had a post, and well I guess it has been. Well the reason why is because I got a new job. I now work 4 days a week 8-5 ish, and with Chris studying in the house for his tests, I try to take Lucy away so that she does not just bug her Dad. I hope to get a little better and catch up over the next week or so.

Last year at Old Navy's end of season sale I bought Lucy this swim stuff, we are getting ready to go on vacation to San Diego in about 2 weeks, so I pulled it out to try it on her.

As you can see she LOVES it. I had to hide it so that it would make it in the suitcase.

And these are the cutest shoes I found at Target. I had to take them back and get a bigger size, but boy how she loves the hills. So girly, I have no idea where she gets it from.

Every year in Jan or Feb and again in Oct, my sister and our husbands go out to celebrate

B-days. We always go to Outback, and normally never take the kids. Rather than buying gifts for each other we just have a night out!

This year, we took the kids, but had a great time anyway. It is always yummy food, and I don't have to clean up, so that makes it even better!

There is only one rule, never tell the waiter it is for a birthday. We always fight about who's birthday we go closest to Marc normally wins, so we went the Sat after my birthday. (just in case the rule is ever broken)

Last weekend, me and my sisters took Kemrie and Lucy to Park City for a girls day of shopping. On the way there, we stopped at Burger King. Lucy said she wanted fries and chicken, but when we got our food she would not eat a thing, and threw it on the floor. As we were getting off the exit at Jeremy Ranch, we found out why. Lucy started throwing up everywhere! Stacey, who is pregnant, was in the back seat and bailed the first chance she got. (I don't blame her)

The throw up was everywhere! It was so bad, I threw away Lucy's clothes and went straight to Children's Place to buy PJ's.

On Wed, when Ammie took the car seat out of her van....... there was throw up on the seat. She told me about it while we were at lunch for my birthday. Chris said he would clean it for me. The picture above is Chris posing for the pre clean up (Notice the very small amount of throw up on the seat.)

Valentines Day

We had so much fun for Valentines Day this year!!!

We started the day out at the Haun's home for a brunch, were we had really yummy food!

And over stayed our welcome. We ended up leaving at about 5:00PM, we were all having SO much fun.

Last week when I had Lucy and Kemrie we went shopping and bought these "Love Bird" shirts for them to wear on Valentines Day.

They also found Uncle Cody's old cowboy hats, and thought they were so cool.

I think they are still a little big.

Lucy loves to help me make things, she helped make cookies and had no idea what we were making, when we were all done, I put a little bit in her mouth and she yelled "cookies"

Post haircut! Cookie dough CHEESE we made cookies a lot this month, Lucy got to take some to daycare so that they could cook them for a snack.

Lucy has always loved shoes, but now she is into socks as well.

To get "The Look" you must put on a shirt, any one will do, a diaper or underwear, and the longest pair of socks (dirty or clean) that you can find.

Lucy can be found sporting this at many times of the day.

Nigh Night

Yesterday Lucy was home sick, and asked if she could take a nap!!! I sent her in the room to get in bad while I got her milk ready. When I got in there Lucy was in our bed, and Elmo and her pink bear were fast asleep in hers.

Lucy also made sure that Elmo had pants on for the day, however, they are her pants and would not stay up.

On Sunday Lucy had Lucky Charms for breakfast. Then she started to talk to me later in the day and I could see something in her nose. She had a runny nose and blue just kept on coming.

Then Purple.... I have no idea how many of the marshmallows she stuck up her nose.

This is not the first time she has tried this trick. On Thanksgiving Day it was a bunch of Mini M&M's. I guess if it fits in, it will fit coming out too.

When people ask us about Lucy, we always say that our only hope is that she is not on a "girls gone wild" video, because anything else she will at least be getting paid for. Lucy loves to strip and dance on tables. But I hope she does a 180 and works at the Library. She has this look as well, and loves to boss people around. I can hear the Shhhhh-ing now!

Lu thinks it is so fun to wear Noonie's glasses. The funny thing is, she looks just like Noonie and wears them the same, half on.

Lucy has a friend named Jessica who is quite a bit older than her, Lucy loves to play with her anytime we go over to Matt and Lisa's. Lucy really loves this dog, and goes into Jessie's room to find it every time we are there. For Christmas, Jessie sent Lucy a very special surprise. It was this dog, the most real dog Lucy will ever get. It is a FurReal so is will sit, shake, lay, and bark, but not poop or eat. (my kind of dog)

The other day Lucy sat the dog at one side of the table, and she sat at the other.

Notice the dog paws are on the table, we thought it was so funny that she needs a friend so bad, she has started to invite a dog for a tea party!

Christmas Morning

Kemrie was crying about how she did not want Santa to be there, because he is not her friend. Kemrie is scared of all men, but this year Santa really scared her, she did not want any of the gifts that were from Santa.

Stacey and Dwayne found out on Christmas Eve that they are going to have a baby!

Grandma made these aprons for the girls and Lucy got cleaning supplies for Christmas,

so they were very busy all day.

We had a Great Christmas this year, because of the snow we missed out on going to Heber and having the normal Christmas Day. But came up with new things to do, like dig out the cars and get stuck in the snow. I love this time of year, it is so magical. I love the fact that everyone is excited about what they are giving, and might be getting. As Marc says "Good Food Days" What a great time for us to all get together and enjoy family and friends. I hope everyone had a great year!

Santa Came!

This year Grandma Nooney (which is a new name Lucy started calling Grandma Sandy on Christmas eve) stayed the night with us. Every time Noonay is here we have to wake up early, and Christmas morning is no exception. We have to open Santa and be at my sisters to exchange gifts and have breakfast by 7:00. So that we can leave by about noon to head to in-laws. This year Lucy woke up on her own at about 5:40 and just said "Santa" when I told her that I thought he had come she ran out to the living room to see that he had left Elmo, and Dora dress up.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Every year for Christmas breakfast my dad's family makes biscuits and gravy and Pork chops. When we started doing our own Christmas we took the tradition and made it a Christmas Eve dinner, because we never have time on Christmas morning, now that Stacey and I go to the in-laws. It is still something that we look forward to all year!

Lucy Dance

After Kemrie's recital Lucy has been saying Lucy dance. This week was bring a friend to dance class. Kemrie said Lucy could go with her. Lucy seemed to enjoy it, she is very social, she didn't even hang around Kem. And after class they got a cookie, this is when I got to take pictures of Lucy in her dance outfit. (Notice on the one icture her legs were moving so fast they are just a blur)

Bowling

This year for our Christmas party with the Heber friends, we met at the bowling alley and ate, played a game of bowling. Lucy tried bowling for the first time, and loved it so much that she did not understand why it was not always her turn. Lucy used the ball ramp, and would push the ball as hard as she could and run back to grab another ball, before the ball had even reached the pins.

After bowling we went to Katie's house to talk and laugh. Katie's daughter Brynn came down the stairs and said "Mom, Lucy is not being modest, she is naked" yep that right our daughter was naked! We got her dressed and sent her back up to play, and soon we hear toys coming down the stairs, without a person. Lucy helped them get that way! It is crazy that anyone lets us in their house without leaving a deposit.

Also that same day we went to see Grammy Sandy and Nelly. Lucy loves Nelly, every time we get to Grammy's Lucy runs to the window and starts to yell "Nelly" Soon Nelly will return to live with his family. (Kevin,Erika and Cole) in their new house.

Dance

Kemrie had her first dance recital Dec 12th. Of course we did not think little Miss Shy would dance, but boy did she dance! She was going crazy, she knew the moves and put everything she had into it. Lucy kept saying "Lucy dance." After Kemrie got done she got a lot of flowers from everyone. Uncle Cody even gave one to Lucy while we were waiting for Kem to get done, and after Ammie gave her a single pink rose.

The Living Planet Aquarium

Ammie and I took the kids to the Living Planet Aquarium last week. We buy a year pass every year and only end up going one time. Not this year! The kids had a ton of fun, and because we don't feel like we have to stay forever, we had fun too. Lucy thinks she owns the place (like everywhere she goes) We love to see all the sea creatures they have, but this is nothing like the San Diego Aquarium.

I don't know what to do with Lucy's hair! It has a mind of its own. I did her hair curly the other day to take her into my work, it was so cute, but by the time we got out of the car it was stick straight, I even used product and the defuser. If I ever have loads of money, I am going to hire someone to do both of our hair every morning.

Best of Friends

Kemrie and Lucy are the best of friends, but they are more like sisters. They are 9 months apart, and no siblings should be that close. They know just how to drive each other crazy. Lucy has bit Kemrie 3 times so far, but has not bitten anyone else. I believe this is a self defense strategy! We now know why she needs this! Last weekend all of us siblings were at Ammie's, all of us were in their room watching tv while the boys fixed the computer during halftime. Lucy and Kemrie were in the tub, as usual, sliding down the back of the tub, also as usual. All the sudden Kemrie slid and did not laugh, so I looked at her and could see blood on her finger. Her chin was split right open to the bone, I held it together while we got her dressed and out the door to the insta-care Marc and Ammie went. Kemrie ended up with 1 internal stitch and 5 stitches, which she calls her blue whiskers (her dads favorite color, she always adds that!) Kemrie Elle the princess who is scared of everything was the first to get stitches! Heres to you Kemrie!

Christmas Tree

On Sunday we put up our Christmas tree. This tree is a little different then our tree has been in the past, we only put up ornaments that could not break. Lucy helped so much, she put 7 things on one branch and 5 on another. Lucy also go sesame street ornaments this year to add to our tree. This time daddy was in charge of the camera.

As of late, Lucy is very interested in hiding everything. Tonight she had hid her sippy cup in the drawer under the stove. The other day I was doing laundry, and of course Lucy figured out that she fits in the dryer. However, I will not let her play in there, because if you ever saw Punky Brewster when her friend got stuck in the old fridge and almost died, you will know why. But now instead of helping put clothes in, she is always trying to push them in so far, that she happens to go in with them.

Black Friday!

I love this day! We did not get up early this year, but Grandma Sandy did sleep the night on Thursday so that we could go shopping. Most years we all go, but this year only the girls went, the boys stayed home with the kids. We left at about 10AM, went to a few stores, went to lunch and then a few more. But the highlight of the weekend was making candy with Ammie, Stacey, Mom, and Myself. It is so much work, nut so worth it when it is done.

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving, we went to Marc and Ammie's home. This was the first year for 4 years that we have all been together. Stacey and Dwayne normally go to Wyoming for Thanksgiving, but due to a death in the family they stayed in Utah with us. Also Hot Grandma Judy and Grandpa Terry joined the madness. The kids had a lot of fun playing, and the adults had fun just talking. Who came up with the idea to make 30 different things all for one dinner anyway? It was hard work for a 20 minute meal, but I am sure will do it again next year, and the next and the next......

Halloween

UNDER THE SEA!

This year for Halloween we had the theme under the sea. The whole family dressed up like something under the sea, except Lucy, she was Elmo with a swimsuit on. We had King Triton, Ursula, Nemo, deep sea diver, star fish, shark, crab, Ariel, (little and big) Eric, Sponge Bob, jelly fish, and then Elmo. We always make my parents garage into the theme for the year, so this year we hung a boat above, so it looked like we were under it, fish, blue plastic everywhere, we had a crab pot. It was very fun. We only had about 50 trick or treaters, that was a big bummer because it takes so much work. But next year the theme is NBA! The boys are very excited for that.

San Diego

For Chris' 30th birthday, we went to San Diego to see Neil Diamond. (Chris' dream to see him before he dies) It was so fun! We were only there for 2 nights and 3 days, but we made the most of our time while we were there. We took Grammy Sandy to help out with Lucy, and so that Lucy could stay with her the night of the concert.

I met Chris' aunt and uncle Greg and Marilyn, and his cousin Conor. Chris had not seen them for 20 yrs! They are the most awesome people I have ever met. They hooked us up at the Catamaran hotel and upgraded our room so that we were right on the beach, 6 feet of lawn and then sand. This was very nice with our little water baby, who thinks she is a fish. We could let her play in the water for even 15 min when we had the chance and then bring her right in. We also went to their house for a great dinner, and to watch the sunset from the deck.

While we were there we went to Scripps Aquarium. Lucy was running around like a crazy lady trying to see everything. It is much bigger than the one in Salt Lake, and it is a little cooler knowing that the fish really live right there.

Lipstick Anyone?

Lucy found some lipstick the other day. she did a pretty good job of getting the lipstick almost on her lips, until she had to get the last of the lipstick out of the tube and ended up using her fingers. Now everyone will know how much lipstick you get out of a new tube. It was caked on so thick it was gritty.
